About Secret Garden Café

Best breakfast and lunch spot in Jacksonville. We are know for our fried green tomatoes, coconut cake, pancakes and burgers. The Secret Garden was featured on the Food Network's reality show called Restaurant: Impossible. We had the host, Robert Irvine, and his design team (which included HGTV's own Vanessa Deleon) come to the restaurant and complete a menu change and redesign of the dining rooms in 48 hours. Fun was had by all and the changes have been well received by diners. Our Restaurant: Impossible episode aired on the Food Network February 23, 2011.

Jacksonville is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Jacksonville follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The Belgian waffle was hot and crispy but nice and soft in the middle, came with honey butter which was really good. My friend got biscuits and gravy with a poached egg and bacon, which was also good. Our server was also super nice! Cute cozy decor and a friendly atmosphere.

A charming breakfast restaurant offering comforting dishes, generous servings, and great value. The caramel pecan waffle was a standout, with a delicious combination of sweetness and rich flavors that made it truly memorable. The menu delivers classic breakfast favorites with satisfying portions at affordable prices. The overall experience was simple yet enjoyable, making this a great choice for anyone looking for a tasty and relaxing morning meal.

We stopped at a place we haven't been in a LONG time: Secret Garden Cafe which is located at 10095 Beach Blvd. We split a couple of mimosa pitchers and I had the Patty Melt with Kettle Chips. The melt was decent and I'll circle back to it eventually but I'll try something else next time because I remember loving their breakfast options last time we were here. I LOVED the kettle chips and would get them as a side with anything else. Lauren had the Morning Grab Sandwhich. She picked sausage patties. She could get her egg done however she wanted so she picked fried hard. She could pick cheese as well so she picked American. She liked how buttery the croissant was and said it held up fairly well to the main ingredients. She really liked the breakfast potatoes for her side and said she'd order them every time. This is a cute little place and it's been too long since we stopped in. Emilie was a great server and she happened to be the same person who waited on us the last time we were here, well over a year ago!

I had Fried green tomatoes Benedict, with hollandaise sauce on the side and fresh fruit, as my side. The biscuit was nicely toasted. The fried green tomatoes were perfect, the poached eggs were also perfectly cooked. The bacon was good, average flavor. Service was outstanding. Will be back to try other things on the menu.

Pros: Food was delicious. It's a typical breakfast spot. Portions are nice size. Prices are affordable. Cons: I didn't mind finding my own seating but I stood in the front of dining room for a few minutes with staff walking around me before someone said it was self seating. They need a sign.
